Another day of exploring London, but this one was mostly in
just one place: London's phenomenal Natural History Museum. The museum’s exhibits
are housed in one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen in my life;
much of the building dating back to 1753. The museum was the 2013 winner of the
Best of the Best in the Museums and Heritage Awards for Excellence.
I am going
to have to head back for another visit to this museum as the 5 ½ hours that was
spent there today was not enough time to see and experience all that I wanted
to do there. There are also two other world class museums (the Science Museum
and the Victoria & Albert Museum) that are open free to the public and that
are easily walkable from the South Kensington underground train station. Unlike
any party that I have been to in the last 5 years I can honestly say that I
closed this one down.
By the way, I am happy to have my iPhone unlocked and
operational here in the UK. I am on a “pay as you go” plan and I am going much
further than I thought I would go – right now I am on target for spending $90
during my 2 ½ weeks in England.
